About Black Ice Security
Black Ice Security Services, Inc (BISS) is a licensed private security firm located in the Northern Virginia area. Since 1998, Black Ice has provided local, national and international protection, training and consulting support to its clients. Our President and Founder is Steven Collins, a retired Navy SEAL Master Chief, with over 30 years of operational, administrative and business experience.
Black Ice capabilities range from uniformed guard services, to investigation support to security assessments, and training, as well as other unique operational support requirements such as surveillance and countersurveillance, anti-terrorism and counterterrorism support.
Black Ice personnel are selected from our highly qualified staff and a pool of special operations, intelligence (operations and analytical), law enforcement, personal protection and perimeter security employees and contractor personnel. Assistance in staffing military skills such as snipers, force protection and personal security detail (PSD), operational personnel, and other specialties including medical, logistics, aviation, and construction personnel that are trained and experienced in operating under adverse conditions is provided. Unique specialties such as weather, linguistic, ship captains, pilots, counterintelligence, and intelligence personnel are a few of the capabilities Black Ice can resource.

Steven Collins, President and Founder
Mr. Collins is President and owner of Black Ice Security Services, Inc., an investigations and security consulting firm located in Northern Virginia that provides discreet investigations, staffing assistance, security consulting and protection services to government, corporate, and private sector clients - worldwide.
Mr. Collins has a long history of security, management, and operational field experience dating back over 30 years. He is a retired Navy SEAL Master Chief (E-9), and spent 17 of 22 years in the Navy as a SEAL operator (Sea, Air and Land - the operational environments that U.S. Naval Special Warfare Commandos operate in). Mr. Collins' numerous deployments and extensive travel throughout various regions of the world provided him a depth and breadth of experience, preparing him well for his follow-on career in private security. He has successfully led several disaster relief contingency survey parties overseas with short notice deployment notification. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Collins spent eight years working as a SEAL in the field of intelligence in classified assignments, working with and in support of Special Mission Units (SMU) as well as national level intelligence organizations.
Since founding Black Ice in 1998, he has travelled to Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and to Central America providing personal protection services, consulting and training. Clients include former U.S. Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, several corporate CEO's, and a number of corporate business travellers.
Mr. Collins has provided specialized security consulting and training services for foreign governments; he and his company are involved with staffing and support operations for the war against terrorism and for disaster contingencies (Hurricane Katrina disaster and BP Oil Spill) in the U.S. and overseas. He has participated as a team member for a national level cargo security assessment team.
Steven Collins and Black Ice Security are recognized leaders in staffing support to both Fortune 500 and small firms in need of highly trained and specialized personnel for overseas assignments.
Mr. Collins enjoys his Harley Davidson motorcycles, diving, and adventures of all sorts. He is a Freemason and Past Master of Dale City Lodge No. 319, of the Grand Lodge of Virginia A. F. & A. M. He is an active member of Christian Fellowship Church, and is happily married to Liz Collins. Together, they have five awesome children.
